Minister of Foreign Affairs Visits the Japanese Red Cross Society

Ulaanbaatar, March 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. During her official visit to Japan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with President of the Japanese Red Cross Society Atsushi Seike and visited the Society’s Information Center.
At the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg Batmunkh expressed gratitude for the Japanese Red Cross Society’s ongoing support and close cooperation in various areas, including climate change, disaster management, healthcare, and social issues. The Minister highlighted Mongolia's commitment to combating desertification, adapting to climate change, mitigating its impacts, preventing potential large-scale natural disasters, and enhancing resilience. She emphasized the importance of sharing experiences and cooperating in educating children and youth on disaster preparedness, equipping them with the necessary skills to prevent and respond to emergencies.
President Atsushi Seike expressed sincere appreciation for the assistance provided by the Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian Red Cross Society in the recovery efforts following the strong earthquake in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The two parties discussed continuing their close cooperation in areas such as disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and preparedness training.
In recognition of her contributions to humanitarian efforts, Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh was awarded the Golden Order of Merit by the Japanese Red Cross Society.
