Mongolia and the Republic of Austria to Conclude Social Security Agreement

Ulaanbaatar, March 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The third round of expert-level talks on the conclusion of a Social Security Agreement between Mongolia and the Republic of Austria was held on March 11, 2025.
Under its policy of ensuring the social security rights of
citizens residing abroad, the Government of Mongolia proposed establishing a
social security agreement with the Republic of Austria. In 2024, two rounds
of talks were held in Ulaanbaatar and Vienna and the two sides formulated the general draft of the agreement. This time, the two parties intend to finalize a draft of the administrative
arrangement for implementing the agreement.
When the Social Security Agreement is concluded, citizens
of the two countries will be included in the social security system on an equal level. In addition, the coverage period of insurance premiums will be totalized in pension calculation, ensuring the social security guarantee.
