Mongolian Athletes Win 21 Medals at Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025

Ulaanbaatar, March 18, 2025 /MONTSAME. Special Olympics World Winter Games took place in Turin, Italy, on March 10-15, 2025. The Games, where more than 1,500 athletes from 101 countries competed in eight winter sports, were held after eight years, as the Games were supposed to be held in Kazan, the Russian Federation, in 2021 had been canceled.
The Mongolian Special Olympics Team consisting of
24 athletes is coming back home today with 21 medals, 5 gold, 10 silver,
and 6 bronze medals. Athlete Azjargal Altanzul won two gold medals in alpine
skiing, while Mongolian three athletes grabbed gold medals in snowshoeing,
particularly, Delegjargal Togooch in the 800-meter category, Solongo Tuvdendorj in the 25-meter category, and Buyantogtokh Byambasuren in the 400-meter race.
B.Badamlyanhua, P.Khatansaikhan, B.Munkh-Erdene, Ya.Myagmarsuren, U. Yelmyrza, E.Ankhzul, M. Enkhzaya and M. Amarbold earned silver and bronze medals.
