Herder Cooperatives Conclude Cashmere Supply Agreement with Manufacturers

Ulaanbaatar, May 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the “White Gold” National Movement initiated by the President of Mongolia, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia and the World Bank are jointly implementing the Digital Cooperative Project with the funding of the Japan Social Development Fund.

 

The Project team, in collaboration with the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, organized a Herder-Cooperative-Producer Partnership Event in Bayankhongor aimag on May 13, 2025. During the Event, herder cooperatives concluded Agreements on Cashmere Supply with cashmere factories. Specifically, the “Altayn Uulsyn Orgil” cooperative in Must soum, Khovd aimag signed a Cashmere Supply Agreement with four factories, the “Bayalag Sutain Khugjil” cooperative in Darvi soum, Khovd aimag, the “Uguuj Bayan Ulziit Gol” cooperative in Bumbuger soum, Bayankhongor aimag, and the “Aguit Bayankhangai” cooperative in Battsengel soum, Arkhangai aimag, signed an agreement with one factory each.

 


During the Partnership Event, the representatives of herders and cooperatives were introduced to a factory’s operations, including all stages from washing raw materials to the final production. The cooperatives and the factories agreed to examine the works and expand their cooperation. The event was attended by cooperatives from Bumbuger in Bayankhongor aimag, Must and Darvi in ​​Khovd aimag, Tsenkher and Battsengel soums in Arkhangai aimag, and representatives of major cashmere companies such as “Gobi” JSC, “Cashere Holding” LLC, “Khanbogd Cashmere” LLC, “Uguuj Shim” LLC, “Goyol Cashmere” LLC, and “Khatant International” LLC.
