Champion of the 2024-2025 Season of "the League" to Compete in East Asia Super League 2025-2026

Ulaanbaatar, May 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Champion of the 2024-2025 season of "the League," organized by the Mongolian Basketball Association, will be determined soon.


The winning team will represent Mongolia in the 2025–2026 season of the East Asia Super League (EASL). Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the EASL Henry Kerins presented the Certificate of Confirmation to President G. Battsengel of the Mongolian National Basketball Association (MNBA).                            


The Championship title of "the League" is currently being contested between “Khasyn Khuleguud” and “Bishrelt Metal.” “Khasyn Khuleguud” has taken the lead in the best-of-five series with a 3:2 advantage, having defeated their opponent 84:48 in Game 5 yesterday, May 19, 2025, putting the team just one step away from lifting the championship trophy.


The Champion of the League will be placed in Group B of the upcoming EASL season, alongside the champions of the leagues of Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. During the group stage, each team will play six games, three at home and three away.


While ten teams competed in the previous EASL season, the 2025–2026 season will see the addition of teams from Mongolia and Japan, bringing the total to twelve. These teams will be divided into three groups of four.


Specifically, top teams from Japan’s "B" League, South Korea, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Macau, Hong Kong, and the Republic of the Philippines will face off in the competition. The new season of the East Asia Super League is scheduled to begin on September 27, 2025, with a total of 42 group stage matches awaiting.


The Champion team of Mongolia will start their competition with an away game on October 7, 2025, against the runner-up of the Philippine Basketball League (PBL). They will then host the Champion of the South Korean league on November 5, 2025.


According to statistics, the 2024–2025 season of the East Asia Super League attracted a viewership of 192 million.
