Seventy-Eighth World Health Assembly Underway

Ulaanbaatar, May 21, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78) is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme “One World for Health” on May 19-27, 2025.
At the Assembly, a Mongolian delegation led by Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation Gerelmaa Davaasuren is participating. During the General Debate of the WHA78 on May 19, 2025, Ambassador Gerelmaa delivered a statement emphasizing the importance of addressing global health challenges, including pandemics and climate change, through collective action. The Ambassador of Mongolia reaffirmed the Government of Mongolia’s commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of all citizens and expressed the country’s dedication to strengthening its healthcare system in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Throughout the 78th World Health Assembly, member states are deliberating on enhancing international frameworks, strengthening pandemic preparedness and response capacity, and coordinating global cooperation to mitigate the health impacts of climate change, armed conflicts, and other pressing challenges. The Assembly is also discussing strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of the World Health Organization.
