Mongolia Hosts Regional Conference of International Association of Prosecutors

Ulaanbaatar, June 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 10th Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) is taking place under the theme “Evolving Role of Prosecutors: Challenges and Best Practices in Tackling Cybercrime” in Ulaanbaatar on June 4-6, 2025. Jointly organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Mongolia and the International Association of Prosecutors, the Conference brought together 100 delegates from 25 countries.


President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa delivered the opening speech, stating, "The risks of cyberspace and cybersecurity are creating unprecedented challenges for prosecutorial bodies, regardless of national borders. Therefore, concerted efforts, comprehensive solutions, and coherent policies are essential. I am confident that prosecutors’ offices will continue to make a valuable contribution to strengthening the rule of law and justice. Mongolia is steadfast in protecting the values of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights and freedoms, while vigorously consolidating the independence and autonomy of the prosecutorial service, accelerating legal reforms, ensuring uniform implementation of international treaties and conventions, and adopting best international practices."


At the Conference, discussions are being held on “Evolution and Trends of Social Media and Its Impact on Crime,” “Emerging Threats in the Digital Landscape – The Evolving Nature of Cybercrime Targeting Children,” “Technological Advancements in Combating Cybercrime,” and “Human Trafficking: Regional Trends, Strategies, and Victim Protection.”

 

Founded in 1995, the International Association of Prosecutors is the global organization uniting prosecutors, comprising 183 member organizations from 177 countries and around 1,900 individual members.
