“Urban Planning Concept of Hunnu City” International Open Competition Announced

Open Competition of “Urban Planning Concept of Hunnu City” was announced on
June 27, 2025.
Hunnu City will develop as a satellite city of the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, with optimal spatial planning that alleviates
traffic congestion in Ulaanbaatar and performs special functions of the capital
city. The “Urban Planning Concept of Hunnu City” will encompass a people-centered,
friendly living environment based on sustainable development principles, incorporating
modern smart and green technologies, as well as the historical heritage and
culture of Mongolia with international development trends. The competition is
open to all domestic and international design organizations, teams, and
individuals, of which the top five will be chosen. The judging panel, comprising
domestic and foreign experts, will be publicly announced.
The registration of the teams for the “Urban Planning Concept of Hunnu City” will open on July 3, 2025, and close on August 3, 2025. Teams, whose registrations are confirmed during the specified period, will receive materials relevant to the development and planning task. The teams will develop and submit their concept plans online by November 3, 2025, in accordance with the requirements specified in the design task. The best works will be selected at the end of the three-stage selection process. As a result, an urban planning exhibition will be organized.
