Ulaanbaatar, September 23, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Uuganbayar Nergui, Director General of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia, a delegation led by Major General Dr. Sandor Gombos, Director of the National Directorate General for Aliens Policing of Hungary, is on an official visit to Mongolia to explore areas of bilateral cooperation.

During the visit, the Hungarian delegation reviewed the operations of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia, held formal discussions on bilateral cooperation, including short-term and long-term capacity-building programs, and professional expertise.

Uuganbayar Nergui, Director General of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia, stated, “The Agency maintains effective cooperation with Hungary’s National Directorate General for Aliens Policing (NDGAP), one of our key partners in Europe. Within the framework of our cooperation, over ten staff members have participated in short-term training programs in Hungary since 2023, acquiring valuable knowledge of immigration and migration policies and practices. This experience has benefited us by equipping the team with enhanced capabilities.”

Director General Uuganbayar suggested refining the training program by adding practical components, incorporating modules on the immigration and visa policies of European Union member states at both theoretical and research levels, along with the study of document forgery.

Therefore, following the successful collaboration with a Hungarian partner, he also expressed his intention to broaden partnerships with comparable organizations throughout other EU member states.

Both sides exchanged views, and the Mongolian representatives presented the country’s integrated system for issuing visas, residence permits, and electronic services to the delegation.

Driven by the Government of Mongolia’s digital transition agenda, the Immigration Agency has implemented advanced technologies and fully digitalized its visa and permit services since 2024. As a result, the number of citizens accessing services online has increased fourteenfold over the past two years.
