Capital city to have reliable drinking water supply

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A water pumping station in the capital city has been renovated with new equipment within the Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Areas Development Investment Program being implemented with funds from the Asian Development Bank and the European Investment Bank.

The sub-project was concluded and a handing over ceremony took place on Wednesday.

P.Bayarkhuu, coordinator of the project and Deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar in charge of infrastructure and ger district development, underlined that the renovation of the water pumping station creates possibility to ensure reliable drinking water supply in Ulaanbaatar city.

With the renovation, 16 pieces of pumps for water wall were newly installed in complex at the 'B' station and SCADA system was set up in the  Ulaanbaatar Water Supply and Sewerage Authority. The system is estimated to save electricity by 15-30 per cent and water by 5-10 per cent. 'B' station was established in 1964 to provide industrial area of the capital city with water.
