Prime Minister applauds success of Mongolian athletes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh received Thursday some athletes to congratulate them on their recent accomplishments.
In specific, the Prime Minister had an audience with Mongolia’s national 3x3 basketball team, which won a gold medal at the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Basketball Asia Cup, the coach and the authorities of the Mongolian National Basketball Association and powerlifter B.Chimedtseren, who won a gold medal at the 2017 Asian Bench Press Championship held in the Philippines.
Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh appreciated B.Chimedtseren for giving hope to Mongolians training in the sport and resounding the name of Mongolia on the international arena, wishing the best of luck.

The Prime Minister then remarked on the impressive progress of Mongolian basketball players in recent years. “It is a huge achievement for a team sport,” said the Prime Minister, expressing his hope that the team would grab a medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The Mongolian 3x3 basketball team has advanced their FIBA world ranking by about 160 places to stand at 28.
