Prime Minister visits school with three-shift system

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On December 5, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh worked at the 65th secondary school of Songinokhairkhan district, a school with three-shift system.
In the academic year of 2017-2018, 6,154 children are studying in the third shift of schools in the capital city, where 152 teachers and 140 staffs are working overtime. The Prime Minister commended the hard work of teachers educating the younger generation of Mongolia.
The Prime Minister informed the teachers and the pupils of the Cabinet’s decision to provide schools, kindergartens and children’s wards of hospitals with air purifiers. “This decision will be taken into action starting from December 15,” he said.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister pointed out that the Government is working on improving the accessibility of schools and kindergartens. The Government plans to transition all schools to two-shift systems by 2019.
In 2018, construction works of total 93 schools which of 55 new schools and expansion of 38 schools will begin on the national level. The Government also aims to provide all children with kindergartens by building 100 more kindergartens and expanding 29 kindergartens.
In addition, the Prime Minister assigned Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sport Ts.Tsogzolmaa to solve MNT 574 million fund for the issuance of overtime salary for teachers and staffs of three-shift schools.
