Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During his working trip to Dornogobi aimag, President Kh.Battulga visited a herding household to oversee wintering progress.
About 4,167 households with their 1.2 million head of livestock are wintering in Dornogobi aimag. It was reported to the President that no soum is facing difficulty in wintering.
Herder L.Naranzul, who is spending the winter in Urgun soum, has been living in the area since 1977. “Although wintering is normal with the lack of snow, there is shortage of hay. Overall, we aren’t fully benefitting from our livestock. Cashmere costs about MNT 80 thousand per kg, but wool and goat and sheep skin are as if they are valueless on the market,” he said.
President Kh.Battulga acknowledged the issue of low price on some raw materials saying, “In order to increase benefit from livestock, we must purchase raw materials at a stable price from herders and process them domestically. I will address this issue at my meeting with the people of Dornogobi aimag.”

The President has visited Khentii, Dornod, Sukhbaatar and Dornogobi aimags, and the working trip continues.
