Cooperation to be intensified with Lithuania in agriculture

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On March 15, D.Enkhbat, acting State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, met with Ina Marčiulionytė, Non-resident Lithuanian Ambassador to Mongolia.

D.Enkhbat emphasized that the Ministry is working to bring the sector’s development into a new level, promote exports and import substitutes and provide the population with healthy and safe food.
He also briefly introduced newly adopted Mongolian laws and national programs, including Laws on livestock gene-pool and livestock and animals’ health, national programs on cashmere and industrialization 21:100. When the abovementioned laws come into force in June, 2018, it will ensure the improvement of animal breed and productivity and safety of animal-related raw materials and products alongside giving special focus to livestock health, he noted

"Our country is currently cooperating with Mongolia in protecting animals’ health and ensuring food safety," said Ina Marčiulionytė, expressing Lithuania’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Mongolia. In addition, she invited Mongolian delegates to participate in the meeting of Agricultural Ministers of Asia and Europe and food and agriculture exhibition to be organized in Lithuania this May.
