‘Child protection’ operation starts

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The National Police Agency commenced a month-long nationwide activity ‘Child protection’ from April 1 with a purpose protect and prevent children from crimes.

In 2017, 32,259 crimes were recorded in the country, of which in 1757 crimes children suffered. As of first quarter of this year, 416 children became victims of crimes. It showed an increase of 23.8 percent against the same period of previous year.



With aim to reduce conditions of crimes against child, this nationwide activity is being carried out.  Within the month-long activity, police departments and units will organize discussions themed ‘Child Protection’ and impact measures to stimulate actions of a joint team on child protection in their respective areas.

More public-oriented impact measures, including training on preventing children from traffic accident will be organized alongside intensifying ‘Teen police’ and ‘School Police’ operations.
