Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the National Journalism and the World Press Freedom Day, the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists (CMJ) held a national forum 'Independent Journalism‘ today on May 3 with support of Governor's Office of the Capital City.
First of all, the CMJ will focus special attention on developing ‘Independent Journalism’. On the Press Freedom Day, we have to touch upon future development of the national journalism. Hence, we invited teachers, scholars and scientists and discussing pressing issues in the sector, said Kh.Mandakhbayar, President of the CMJ in his opening remarks. President Kh.Battulga and Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh sent congratulatory letters to attendees of the forum and the letters were presented.
Furthermore, Mayor of the capital city and Governor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold attended the forum and emphasized in his speech that 80 percent of the press organizations operate in the capital city and it is showing how close relationships press and the capital city have. The CMJ requested authorities of the capital city to give land permission to erect ‘Journalist’ Palace. The land issue has been resolved and I believe that construction work will begin this spring and the journalists will have their own palace next year.
