President receives Canadian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On October 29, President U.Khurelsukh
received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia
Catherine Ivkoff.
At the meeting, Ambassador Catherina Ivkoff reaffirmed her commitment to work closely to expand Mongolian-Canadian relations and cooperation, and support the ‘One billion trees’ nationwide campaign initiated by the President.
Noting the actively developing Mongolia-Canada cooperation
in politics, economy and other fields, President U.Khurelsukh said he would
provide all-round support as President to strengthen bilateral friendly
relations and elevate it to a comprehensive partnership.
They mutually expressed their satisfaction with the successful implementation of projects of the Canadian Development Assistance Program and their valuable contribution to the socioeconomic development of Mongolia while emphasizing the expansion of bilateral defense cooperation and Mongolia’s important role in UN peacekeeping operations.
Moreover, the parties exchanged views on the further cooperation in the fight against climate change and desertification, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, forestry, renewable energy and education, as well as introduction of Canadian experience, technologies and innovations.
