Education Ministry to Collaborate with Chamber of Commerce to Establish Dual Vocational Education and Training System

March 18, 2024, Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia Enkh-Amgalan
Luvsantseren, and President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Enkhtuvshin Dashtseren signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in
establishing dual vocational education and training system.
The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ)
expressed to provide support for establishing dual vocational education and training through
its “Cooperative Technical and Vocational Education and
Training-2” project in Mongolia.
Under the two-year Memorandum, the two parties will
collaborate to increase employers’ participation in vocational education and
training and establish an internationally accepted dual vocational education
and training system in Mongolia as part of the educational reform implemented
by the Government of Mongolia.
In 2023, within the scope of establishing a dual training system in Mongolia, preparational works were completed in stages with GIZ project support, including studying the foreign country’s experience and their legislation, and collaboration with international consultants.
By establishing a dual vocational education and training system
in Mongolia, qualified and skilled workers, who meet labor market demand will
be prepared by involving the business community in designing
training programmes in line with companies’ needs.
One of the purposes of the “Cooperative Technical and Vocational Education and Training-2” project which is being implemented by GIZ and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, is to support the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia in the establishment of the dual vocational and education training system in Mongolia.
