B. Erkhembayar Wins Silver Medal at 16th Asian Shooting Championships

Ulaanbaatar, August 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 16th Asian Championship Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun is continuing for its 14th day in Shymkent, the Republic of Kazakhstan.


At the 16th edition of the tournament, Mongolia secured its third medal. In the junior category, the women’s rifle team claimed bronze, while two days ago, International Master Davaakhuu Enkhtaivan earned a bronze medal in the Men’s Senior 50-meter pistol category. His medal marked the first podium finish for Mongolia in the pistol category at the Asian Championship in 38 years, since 1987, and the second medal overall for Mongolian male pistol shooters at this level.


Yesterday, in the youth category of the 50-meter rifle category, national team member Erkhembayar Batbayar scored 622.6 points to win the silver medal, his first-ever medal at the Asian Championships. His achievement is also notable as it represents the first medal for Mongolia’s male rifle shooters at the continental tournament.


Since 1974, Mongolian shooters have continuously participated in the Asian Shooting Championships.
