Mongolia Seeks Closer Infrastructure, Humanitarian Cooperation with SCO Member States

Ulaanbaatar, November 19, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav attended the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on November 18, 2025, in Moscow, Russia, where he delivered remarks.
The Prime Minister noted that Mongolia seeks to cooperate
with SCO member states on major infrastructure, urban development, and energy
projects, as well as in the humanitarian sector, under its goal of becoming “Transit Mongolia,” a key trade, tourism, transport, and logistics
hub connecting Asia and Europe.
Prime Minister Zandanshatar
highlighted Mongolia’s national movements such as “Billions
of Trees” and “Food Supply and
Security,” which aim to mitigate climate change, combat
desertification, and expand water resources. In this context, he expressed
Mongolia’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with SCO
member states.
The Premier noted that Mongolia will host the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification in Ulaanbaatar in 2026, stressing that the conference will focus on integrated solutions for climate adaptation, water resource enhancement, and combating land degradation. The Mongolian Prime Minister invited SCO member countries to participate at a high level and with large delegations.
Prime ministers and foreign ministers from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and India are participating in the SCO Council of Heads of Government Meeting.
