President of Max Group D.Ganbaatar awarded with ‘Hero of Labor’
n the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of private entities in Mongolia, President of ‘Max’ Group D.Ganbaatar was awarded with the title, ‘Hero of Labor’, according to a decree issued by President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga. He was awarded with the highest state award for his consistent hardwork over the last 30 years in the Mongolian business sector and leadership in the development of the sectors of food production, trade, agriculture, road, tourism, and construction.

Government raises USD 600 million in Nomad bond to repay sovereign debts
Minister of Finance of Mongolia Ch.Khurelbaatar today announced that the government of Mongolia together with the Bank of Mongolia has issued 5.5-year ‘Nomad’ sovereign bond with 5.125 percent of annual coupon rate, raising USD 600 million on international stock markets. The trades of the Nomad bond, whose repayment is due in April 2026, have been completed by September 29.

Mongolia’s economic growth to accelerate to over 5 percent in 2021-22, World Bank report finds
COVID-19 has delivered a triple shock to the developing East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region: the pandemic itself, the economic impact of containment measures, and reverberations from the global recession brought on by the crisis.  Swift action will be needed to ensure that the pandemic does not hamper growth and increase poverty for years to come, according to From Containment to Recovery, the World Bank’s October 2020 Economic Update for East Asia and the Pacific.

The 61st International Mathematical Olympiad was held online on September 21-22. From this year’s Olympiad, O.Misheel had great success, winning the gold medal. In the history of the Olympiad, the medal is the 4th gold medal to be won by a Mongolian student.
