OSCE PA session begins

Autumn session of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly /PA/ started on Wednesday in the State House. The session has gathered some 300 delegates from 47 countries, 19 officials from 13 international organizations.
According to the OSCE President Mr Ilkka Kanerva who made the opening remarks, two-day session will discuss security challenges at the regional and international levels as well as parliamentarians’ role in strengthening the regional cooperation. Participants will also discuss the issues regarding environment, water, foods and overcoming climate change.
It is possible that several members of the OSCE will establish the Representative Offices in their countries, Mr Kanerva noted and emphasized an importance of opening such Representative Offices in many other countries. He mentioned that the OSCE PA Autumn Session has brought together also delegates from the United Nations (UN) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
After that, Mr Z.Enkhbold, the Speaker of Mongolian parliament has delivered a speech. He noted that Mongolia became a Participating State of the OSCE in 2012, and underlined that such a  membership was provided with big opportunities to fortify our multilateral foreign policy, to cooperate with the OSCE Participating States in security issues, to share information and experiences. He emphasized that the OSCE has become a vital body for ensuring global and regional security.
