Group of MPs present draft amendments to law on election
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A draft amendments to the Law on Election was presented to Speaker Z.Enkhbold on November 13. The bill was initiated and developed by O.Baasankhuu, N.Battsereg, Z.Bayanselenge, M.Sonompil, D.Terbishdagva, Ts.Oyunbaatar, Ch.Ulaan and Ts.Tsolmon MPs.
The initiators considered that, although a new version of Parliamentary Election Law was adopted in 2011, the law has been deficient in regulating the contemporary social situations and has been weakly exercised. They said on motives to develop the draft amendments, the bill aims at creating legal basis to facilitate citizens’ full enjoyment of their constitutional right to elect and to be elected to state bodies, and the right of eligible citizens to public, liberal and direct election.
