Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The faction of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) announced after their November 16 meeting that they will not back the proposed amendments to the Constitution of Mongolia.

A head of the faction S.Byambatsogt MP said some 50 clauses have been changed according to the draft, submitted by group of MPs led by N.Batbayar. In this case, he said, the issue will arise of renewing the Constitution, “which we do not have enough time for”. Therefore, "it is better that we prioritize amending the Law on State Great Khural Election and focus on conducting fair elections". So far, four draft laws on elections have been submitted. The MPP faction considered as suitable to run discussions on whether to present them to  parliamentary reading, he said.

The faction also concluded that the law on 2016 state budget "has not been adequately developed for overcoming the current economic difficulties".
