High capability power station to be erected in Uvs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ This power station equipped with the latest technologies will be erected in Uvs aimag’s Ulaangom soum.

An investment contract was established last Sunday between the “Baruun Mongol Energy” company and the Germany-headquarted "SaxEnergy Mongolia" joint company in Berlin of Germany.

The Baruun Mongol Energy will construct the power station with its capital under a guarantee of the Mongolian government and will sell energy for a period. The construction performer gives a 40-year guarantee of utilization. It has been calculated that the power station is to earn 41% profit every year. In addition, it will create some 300 jobs.

The project will be implemented for 1.6 years, its financing of EUR 120 million will be given from  Germany’s Landesbank Berlin AG with a period of 15 years and 4% interest. Raw material for the station will be supplied from a coal deposit “Khotgor shanaga”, the construction is expected to start from spring of 2016.

“To be built with environmentally-friendly new technologies, this power station will produce 60 Megawatt energy a year on a basis of coal, solar and wind energies. Almost 60 percent of techniques will be supplied by the Siemens,” said a director of the "SaxEnergy Mongolia".

The power station will reliably provide our three western aimags with energy, which means that billions of Togrogs will be saved by quitting electricity import from Russia.

The companies also concurred to train 5,000 Mongolian engineering and technical workers in Germany. A memorandum regarding this matter has been established between the Energy Development Center and the Germany “LMMG” company.
