Deputy Premier at “Hour of Minister” weekly meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Deputy Premier and acting Minister of Health and Sport Ts.Oyunbaatar gave a report at the “Hour of Minister” weekly meeting on Thursday.

When talking about winter conditions in localities, the Deputy Premier said that some 56 million heads of livestock are expected to overcome this winter in 149 thousand families located in 330 soums of all aimags and four districts of the capital city. Over 80 percent of territories have been covered by snow, 50 soums of 15 aimags are suffering from the dzud (heavy snow disaster), 120 soums of 20 aimags are in bad conditions, Oyunbaatar said. Hay and fodder will be delivered to herders at half price by the cabinet decision, he added.

This year has been announced as the Consumer's year, and the government, who announced as such, has approved a programme on saving consumers’ interests, and laws on protecting consumers’ interests will be amended in order to upgrade a legal environment for consumers, the legal documents are supposed to be submitted to parliament in a first quarter of 2016, he said. Talking about the Ministry of Health and Sport, the Deputy PM said bills and concepts have been formulated on medical aid and services, on health, on medicine and medical facilities, on physical culture and sport, on nutritional products for infants, on mother and children and on insurance of responsibilities. In accordance with the bill on health insurance, an individual can receive a diagnosis service costing 165 thousand Togrog every month.

Oyunbaatar also said Harvoni medicine has arrived to cure hepatitis C virus, and it has been registered in the country’s list of medicine. He reported that Mongolia has become one of the eight countries to fully satisfy criteria for health of the Millennium Development Challenge (MDC).

The Ministry is focusing on ensuring of a preparation for Mongolian athletes who will to take part in the Rio 2016 Olympics, he said.
