Foreign trade surplus increases
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first half of 2016, Mongolia traded with 132 countries and the total external trade turnover reached USD 3,692.0 million, of which 2,192.9 million was made up by exports and 1499.1 million -- by imports.
Total external trade turnover declined by USD 516.9 million or 12.3 percent. Exports decreased by USD 177.3 million or 7.5 percent, and imports -- by 339.6 million or 18.5 percent compared with the same period of 2015.
External trade balance showed a surplus of USD 693.8 million in the first half of 2016. In the same period of last year, the surplus was USD 531.5 million.
