Over 50 schools to be involved in Eco-Schools program

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Some 55 schools of 11 aimags and Ulaanbaatar city are to be newly enrolled in 'Eco-Schools' international program network and primary trainings for them are being held.
Eco-Schools Program is an international program aimed at developing nature friendly practices through granting education of green and sustainable development, based on ISO 14001 standards, environmental management system to children, youth and local communities and through increasing their participation.
"Environmental Information and Training Center" non-governmental organization conducts the trainings for the second year within the Education for Sustainable Development project. The NGO is a member of the Foundation for Environmental Education and a national operator in realization of the Eco Schools program in Mongolia.
The program is to provide environmental education, knowledge and understanding on sustainable development by encouraging and promoting children’s initiatives, and to change their behavior and attitudes based on student participation.
