Women's leadership and gender equality discussed between Mongolia and Australia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ September 15 of this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Australia on September 15.  Commemorating the anniversary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Embassy of Australia in Ulaanbaatar are holding a series of events. Accordingly, “Women’s Leadership and Gender Equality” roundtable discussion was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 2.

The discussion was opened by B.Battsetseg, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and John Langtry, Ambassador of Australia to Mongolia.

Attended by the government officials, Ambassador for Women and Girls of Australia Dr. Sharman Stone and MP Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Minister of Finance Kh.Bulgantuya, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare S.Mungunchimeg  have conducted presentations at the discussion.
The special guest of the event, Dr. Sherman Stone is conducting a working visit to Mongolia between May 2 and 4. During her 20 years of experience in the Parliament of Australia, Dr. Sherman Stone provided significant contribution in bilateral relations of the countries.



Based on Australia’s practice, the speakers held discussions on supporting women’s leadership in private and public sectors, Mongolia’s policy on gender equality, development policy and projection of gender equality and Parliament’s role in supporting women’s leadership.
