Deputy PM Led Working Group Reviews Operations of Tsagaannuur Free Zone

Ulaanbaatar, November 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A working group led by Deputy Prime Minister and State Emergency Commission Chief Gankhuyag Khassuuri is working in the five western aimags (provinces). During the visit, the group reviewed the operations of the Tsagaannuur Free Zone in Bayan-Ulgii aimag.


Under Government Resolution No. 412 of 2022, the Tsagaannuur Free Zone was transferred to permanent status, and it officially commenced operations in June 2023.


As of 2025, a total of 80 business entities have registered to operate in the zone, and six are currently engaged in trade and services. The Tsagaannuur Free Zone is designated for development in transport, logistics, trade, manufacturing, and tourism through 2040.


The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the zone’s management to present a report on their activities over the past four years, prepare detailed assessments for necessary projects and programs, and prioritize swift measures to improve the zone’s operations.
