Mongolian judo team follows Japan and S.Korea by medal count

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Members of Mongolian national team of judo has won one gold, three silver and five bronze medals at the Asian Judo Championships 2017, commenced on May 26 in Hong Kong.
18 judokas represented Mongolia at the championships, which attracted a total of 244 wrestlers from 29 countries.

On the first day, 11 judokas were challenged in men’s 60, 66, 73 kg and women’s 48, 52, 57, 63 kg weights. Six Mongolian judokas won medals on this day, to be specific, G.Kherlen grabbed a bronze in men’s 66kg, G.Odbayar – silver in men’s 73 kg, M.Urantsetseg became champion in women’s 48 kg, Ch.Azzaya – silver in 52 kg, B.Mungunchimeg – silver in women’s 63kg and B.Gankhaich – bronze in the same category.

On Day 2, B.Munkhtuya (women’s 78+ kg) and B.Janchivdorj (men’s 100- kg) and O.Duurenbayar (men;s 100+ kg) all won bronze medals.


By overall medal count, Mongolian team was ranked at the third place after Japan and South Korea.
In team category, both male and female teams of Mongolia grabbed silver medals.
