Dornod /MONTSAME/ The "Khuren baavgai” (Brown Bear) company, which runs activities of environmental assessment and research cleaned the bottom of Khukh Nuur (Blue Lake) this spring.
The ecosystem of the lake, the lowest point of Mongolia situated in the southwest of Ereentsav soum of Dornod aimag, has been degraded over the last few years due to devastating slug propagation in the Khukh Lake. In this regard, a bid was announced for studies to be financed from aimag budget and "Khuren Baavgai" Company won the bid.
During its first survey in May, the research team of the company extracted a large number of fish nets from the lake.
The second phase survey on the lake ecosystem will be conducted from July 20 until 10 August.
