President Kh.Battulga sends official letter on summoning irregular session

The letter reads, “Eight days have passed since the dismissal of entire Government during the parliamentary irregular session. Having an acting cabinet during this critical time when we should be activating the harvesting and wintering preparations, intercepting spread of contagious hoof and mouth disease of livestock and commencing the discussion on 2018 Government Budget, will lead to stagnation of important government functions and negative economic consequences. Therefore, the parliament needs to be summoned urgently in order to forward formation of the new cabinet,”
In accordance with relevant provisions of the Constitution, the Law on President of Mongolia and Law on State Great Khural (parliament) of Mongolia, the President suggested to call for the parliamentary irregular session on September 18-22.
President Kh.Battulga also underlined in his letter that activities of Parliament and Government should not be prolonged due to internal matter or problem of any political party.
