Taiwanese Government donates wheelchairs to people with disabilities

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place Thursday to donate 230 wheelchairs to people with disabilities at the Rehabilitation and Training Center at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The devices have been gifted from the Taiwanese Government.
The ceremony was attended by Ts.Ganchimeg, Director of the Rehabilitation and Training Center, Huang Kuo-jung, Representative of the Representative Office of Taiwan in Ulaanbaatar, D.Baatarjav, President of the United Association of People with Disabilities of Mongolia, Paralympic medalist and State Honored Athlete and Labor Hero, and representatives of the people with disabilities.
Ts.Ganchimeg highlighted that there are over 101 thousand people with disabilities in Mongolia and the people with physical disability makes up 19 per cent. She then expressed her gratitude on behalf of the people with disability towards the Taiwanese Government and the Representative Office of Taiwan in Ulaanbaatar for constantly rendering support to them.
In return, Huang Kuo-jung said that they are happy for handing out the wheelchairs to the people with physical disabilities. She also remarked that the Representative Office of Taiwan in Ulaanbaatar had organized many humanitarian events last year. The wheelchair donation is part of it as well. The Representative Office of Taiwan will continue organizing training, meetings and assistance measure by cooperating with the Rehabilitation and Training Center, she added.
The branch of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Family in Mongolia will help low-income citizens and households to survive winter. Furthermore, Huang Kuo-jung noted that Taiwan and Mongolia are cooperating in expanding the bilateral ties in the economic and cultural spheres.
