Prime Minister meet President of Russian Railways JSC

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh met Russian Railways JSC delegates led President O.V.Belozyorov on February 2.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on reform/reconstruction of ‘Ulaanbaatar Railway’ Mongolian-Russian Joint Stock Company, required funding for it and other issues.
I am confident that 2030 Development Program of Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC will be formulated and adopted near future and launch the priority projects which will be implemented in the framework of the reform, noted Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh. He made proposal to include projects on ‘North’ and ‘East’ corridors in the list of priority projects within the scope of agreement on establishment of economic corridor between Mongolia, Russia and China.
The Prime Minister requested to focus attention to making technical renovation in Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC in agreement to fast increasing freight amount through railroad, to jointly implement a project to have new gate, building 280 km railroad from Zuunbayan to Khangi border checkpoint. The Prime minister also put a proposal to organize ‘Tranzit-Mongolia 2018’ event during ‘Trans Russia’ the 23rd international exhibition for freight and logistics to be held in April, in Moscow, Russia.
A favorable condition has been created to make reform in Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC in 2018, noted Mr. O.V.Belozyorov, mentioning that 23 million tons of freight was transported by Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC in 2017 and as of January 2018 transported freight amount increased by 16 percent compared to the same period of last year in addition to increased transit transport.
Making reform in Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC and technical renovation will increase transit transport and freight amount sighnificantly, he added.
