Altai Tavan Bogd National Park area to be improved

Bayan-Ulgii /MONTSAME/ Renovation work for the 13 trail en route from the entrance point of the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park to state worshipping ovoo will start in spring, 2018.
Within the renovation, it was planned to build public toilets in three locations, a parking lot and waste disposal point. Also, the road work will be carried out with funding by the Road Fund.
In 2012, former President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj issued a decree to make Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain as the state worshipping mountain. Then, the first state worshipping ceremony took place in July, 2014.
In accordance with the decree, a ceremony to worship the mountain takes place every four year and the second state ceremony to worship the mountain will be held in summer, 2018. So, Bayan-Ulgii aimag is paying attention to improve the infrastructure of the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park.
Considered as the highest mountain of Mongolia, Mt. Altai Tavan Bogd is elevated 4374 metres above sea level. As estimated, 3130 foreign tourists visited Mt. Altai Tavan Bogd last year.
