Foreign Minister meets Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On May 11, Foreign Affairs Minister D.Tsogtbaatar met with E.Yu. Astrakhantseva, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and member of the Ekaterinburg World Expo-2025 Bid Committee.
During the meeting, E.Yu.Astrakhantseva gave a detailed information on concept of organizing the World Expo-2025 in Ekaterinburg and its plans. She also highlighted that Ekaterinburg city has set a goal of becoming a ‘smart city’ based on new and best technologies.
World Expos, known officially as International Registered Exhibitions, are organized every five years. Three countries are candidates to host World Expo 2025: Japan (in Osaka), the Russian Federation (in Ekaterinburg), and Azerbaijan (in Baku). The 170 Member States of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) will elect the host country at the 164th General Assembly to be held in France in November, 2018.
