Development Bank attends Mongolia Economic Forum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Development Bank of Mongolia (DBM) CEO B.Batbayar attended the Mongolia Economic Forum as a panelist of the ‘Integrated Investment Policy of Mongolia and Projects to be implemented’ general meeting. He introduced the newly established investment fund to finance projects that support economic growth, creating opportunities to attract long-term investments.

He mentioned that the DBM subsidiary DBM Asset Management LLC has set up investment funds to invest the major development and profitable projects in mining, infrastructure, green development and agricultural sectors to ensure economic growth and increase competitiveness of Mongolia. The company is studying international experience of infrastructure investment funds. The US Government, the Ministry of Finance specialist and experts who have experience in developing an investment fund in countries similar to Mongolia will work on this project, CEO B.Batbayar said.

The feasibility study of major projects does not meet DBM criteria and legal requirements while DBM has the right to provide consulting services. Therefore, Mr.Batbayar emphasized the opportunity of funding development of a feasibility study by the investment fund and repaying the cost.
