Epic tellers around the world to gather in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ ‘Jangar Studies’ NGO and the Institute of Language and Literature at the Mongolian Academy of Science will co-organize an international symposium-festival themed ‘World Epic and the Epic of Jangar’ in Ulaanbaatar on September 21-23.
 
The international symposium-festival aims to intensify researches on Mongolian national epics and the Epic of Jangar, develop comparative researches, support young researchers specialized in epic study, discuss pressing problems of epic tellers and epic art as well as to find solutions.
 
The symposium will be organized with topics ‘Epics of modern times’, ‘Preservation and protection issues of epic', 'Current state of epic arts', 'Epic and digital world, Relations of Mongolian Epic', 'Nomadic civilization, ethnicity and epic', 'Comparative study on Mongolian and Turkic epics and translation and spread of epic'.
 
In the scope of the symposium-festival, meeting themed ‘The Epic of Jangar and Innovation’ will be held to discuss a long-term international project alongside with festival of epic tellers 'Source of epic’.
