Mongolia-Japan Business Forum held in Tokyo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SME Development Fund at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Embassy of Mongolia in Japan and Export International Trade Center (EICT) have successfully co-organized the Mongolian-Japanese Business Forum in Tokyo.

The event was aimed at addressing issues of promoting light industry products at international market, solving problems in the export market, introducing and promoting potential export products on foreign markets, increasing exports from Mongolia to Japan and intensifying the partnership agreement as reflected in the Government Action Program.

Over 120 entrepreneurs from Japan including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SME Support Center and Mongolian representatives from 15 entities attended the forum. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Mongolia to Japan D.Batjargal, head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Akahi and representing the organizers Deputy Director of the SME Development Fund at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry A.Amarjargal and head of the EICT L.Bayan-Altai gave opening remarks.

Deputy Director of the SME Development Fund A.Amarjargal delivered a presentation titled ‘Business environment, current state of SME, pressing issues of Mongolia and opportunities of cooperation with Japan’ and provided the Japanese business people with actual information of the sector.

In addition, representatives of light industry of Mongolia including cashmere and wool, leather, food, cosmetics, freight forwarding and labor force companies provided detailed information on their activities, presenting their  capabilities and unique features.

Moreover, officials led by Chairman of Kawasaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry Osamitsu Yamada received Mongolian delegation and the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation.
