Project on the establishment of National Cardiovascular Center to continue

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ MP and Minister of Health D.Sarangerel paid an official visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on August 17-20.
The purpose of the visit was to intensify relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Luxembourg, to carry on with the projects and programs of the official development assistance and to expand cooperation in the health sector.
On August 20, Minister D.Sarangerel met with Luxembourg Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs Romain Schneider in Luxembourg City and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation issues. During the meeting, she emphasized that the official development assistance of the Luxembourg Government to Mongolia since 2001 has made great contribution to health and banking sectors of Mongolia and expressed her gratitude.
An important outcome of the meeting was that the sides agreed to continue ongoing Luxembourg-backed project on the establishment of National Cardiovascular Center in Mongolia.
The Minister also visited the cardiovascular center of the country and got acquainted with its operation, advanced technology and health services.
Cardiologists of this center have been cooperating with the cardiovascular center of the Shastin Third Central Hospital of Mongolia for over a decade, rendering supports to improve professional capacity of Mongolia’s health sector by way of training Mongolian health workers and providing professional advice on cardiovascular diseases in rural areas.
