Public transport emission to be reduced by over 80 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A memorandum on introducing diesel particulate filters (DPF), which reduce public transport emission by 85-97 percent, in Mongolia was signed by KOTRA Ulaanbaatar of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea and the Transport Department of the Capital City.

In the frameworks of the memorandum, highly efficient DPF filters of the South Korean company, ‘Ceracomb’, will be installed on public buses. With 25 years of experience of manufacturing the filter, the company have introduced it to seven countries so far.


The filters were installed on four buses as a test last year and the results showed the emission being reduced by 50-60 percent.

Deputy Governor of the Capital City D.Enkhtur, Head of the Transport Department of the Capital City D.Otgonbaatar and representatives of KOTRA Ulaanbaatar attended the signing ceremony.
