Minister asks support on introducing textbook rental system

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg yesterday received Yolanda Fernandez Lommen, Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Mongolia.
Beginning the meeting, the Minister expressed his gratitude on numerous projects that have being successfully carried out with assistance and support of ADB.
Then, the sides exchanged opinions on cooperation possibilities in improving learning conditions of secondary school students in rural areas as well as implementing projects targeted to develop children with disabilities, give them primary and secondary education equally to normal children and train special education teachers.
Within the state policy to improve accessibility of textbooks, the Ministry intends to create conditions to introduce textbook rental system after testing the system. To accomplish this goal, it is required to raise early stage financing to have resource of textbooks to be used for rent. Therefore, the Minister asked to render financial assistance on it within the projects and programs running with financing of ADB.
In turn, MS. Yolanda Fernandez Lommen said that it is possible to give assistance within the frameworks of ongoing projects and expressed that she will make efforts for solving it positively, presenting it to ADB authorities.
