Ambassador Ya.Ariunbold presents his letter of credence

At the
meeting following the ceremony, Secretary General highlighted ICAO’s 75th
anniversary celebration and the upcoming 40th ICAO Assembly, which will
commence on September 24, aimed at promoting new innovations in the civil aviation
sector, including drones, flying taxis and new crafts, as a progress to further
support member states innovative initiatives.
Permanent
Representative and Ambassador Ya.Ariunbold expressed the opportunity to further
enhance trade, economic cooperation and people-to-people relations in line with
mutual activities of the International Civil Aviation Organization in
connection with the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing
Countries (LLDC). Ambassador further noted Mongolia’s interest to run for ICAO
Council, and highlighted the liberalization of Mongolia’s aviation, hence to
increase ties with ICAO for expanding its international flight over Mongolia.
Ambassador briefed the process of Mongolian travel documents to meet modern
standards and to introduce Crew Member Cards. Moreover, he expressed his
interest to participate on an official level from Mongolia’s Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, and Authority for State
Registration to ICAO's 15th Symposium and Exhibition on the ICAO Traveler
Identification Programme (TRIP), to be held from June 25-28, 2019 in Montreal.
The
Secretary General and the Permanent Representative emphasized continued closer
cooperation.
