Mongolia to partner with UAE in preventing raptor electrocution

/MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism
Ts.Batbayar made a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 26-27.
In scope of their visit, the delegates established a memorandum with the Mohamed
Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Foundation (MBZRCF) of UAE on jointly implementing a two-year project on
preventing electrocution
of falcons and other birds.
During the
memorandum signing ceremony, Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Managing Director of
MBZRCF, expressed his hope that cooperation between the sides would further expand, implementing the project with good results and cited the great importance of support and
active cooperation of Mongolian stakeholders.
For his
part, Deputy Minister Ts.Batbayar said “Protection of not only falcons, but
also other bird species will be ensured with the project and it is necessary to
intensify wildlife-friendly infrastructure development in the future”, informing
the project is planned to be implemented with support of the locals.
