Joint exhibition of production designers opens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ ‘On the path of legend’ joint exhibition of eight film and stage art directors opened at MN 17 art gallery on May 4. The exhibition is being displayed within the framework of Hollywood in Mongolia project.
The exhibition aimed at introducing traditional culture to world-class filmmakers features clothes and items from national historical and mythical films.
One of the artists L.Batbileg noted that in other countries specialized experts work on different parts and stages of production, while art directors or production designers in Mongolia are responsible for design, creation and production alone. L.Batbileg has been working in the industry since 2009 and worked on more than 10 films so far. His designs and clothes from historical and mythical films ‘Anu Khatan’, ‘Sodura’ and ‘Erkhii mergen’ are displayed at the exhibition. Hollywood filmmakers who visited the exhibition highly appreciated our work, he said.
Some items displayed at the exhibition are for the films that haven’t been premiered or even filmed. For instance, the sketches and clothes of Hulagu mergen, one of the main characters of ‘Erkhii mergen’ fairy tale film shooting of which hasn’t started yet.
The exhibition will run until May 8 at MN 17 art gallery.
