N.Tuvshinbayar wins silver in Grand Prix
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Hohhot Judo Grand Prix 2019 organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF) took place on May 25-26. A total of 23 Mongolian judokas competed in the contest and claimed one silver and two bronze medals. Hero of Labor of Mongolia, State Honored Athlete N.Tuvshinbayar claimed the silver medal in men’s + 100kg event.
He defeated Bekbolot Toktogonov of Kyrgyzstan at the second round, Alen Tskhovrebov of Russia at quarter final and Frey Johannes of Germany at semi-final round. However, he was lost to 2017 Junior Judo Champion Kim Minjong of South Korea for the gold medal.
Furthermore, International
Master of Sports Yo.Baskhuu, who challenged his power in men’s 66kg bout, won a bronze
after beating his opponents of Russia and Azerbaijan at the repechage round while IM L.Otgonbaatar won his Russian opponent Arman Adamian in men’s -100 bout for the bronze.
The next IJF Grand Prix will take place on July 5-7 in Montreal, Canada.
