Cambodian delegation studies experience from Mongolia’s local economic development

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the ETIS program of the National Development Agency (NDA) of Mongolia and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Cambodian delegates comprising deputy governors, heads of governor’s office, and officials of the country’s development and investment authority worked in Mongolia on June 10-17 to get acquainted with and study experience from Mongolia’s national and local development policies, ways of undertaking economic planning, and investment attraction policies, as well as operation of SMEs in food and light industries.


On June 10, the delegation met with relevant authorities including the Head of NDA, receiving information on and discussing Mongolia’s development policies, planning, external and internal investment environments, and ongoing projects and programs, and then visited the Invest in Mongolia center for foreign investors.


Before visiting the new Ulaanbaatar International Airport in Khushigt Valley, the Cambodian representatives met with their counterparts from Zuunmod, administrative center of Tuv aimag, talking about the aimag’s economic policies and planning. Opportunities for establishing cooperation between administrative units of the two countries were noted at the meeting.


As part of their visit, the delegates got acquainted on-site with operation of SMEs in food and light industries including Mogol Wool LLC and Atryn Shim LLC, TESO Group, and OB Plastic LLC.


On June 14, a wrap up seminar was held with involvement of NDA authorities and specialists and lecturers of the National University of Mongolia. At the seminar, answers were given to the Cambodian delegates’ inquiries about regional development, investment, and economic planning of Mongolia and its implementation.
