Mongolia presents its Voluntary National Review on implementation of 2030 Agenda

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On July 16, Minister of Finance of
Mongolia Ch.Khurelbaatar presented Mongolia’s Voluntary National Review on the
Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the High-Level
Political Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals (HLPF) taking place in New
York between July 9 and 18.
Underscoring that Mongolia is one of the first countries
that adopted SDGs, Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar, in his presentation, said there are
certain impediments to the implementation of holistic and comprehensive SDGs even
though a basis has been formed for the achievement of SDGs. He also stressed
the great importance of integrated, comprehensive, and optimal policies and
planning in line with the concept of sustainable development, inter-sector
coordination, and a mechanism for inclusion of all sides in tackling the barriers.
Aside from Mongolia, 47 countries are presenting their Voluntary
National Reviews at the forum. Following the presentation of Mongolia’s review,
comments and questions were posed by the delegates from Norway, Japan, and Sierra
Leone, as well as civil society representatives.
On the same day, Mongolian government officials headed by the Finance Minister took part in the opening of HLPF’s Ministerial Segment at which U.Nomuundari, 9th grade student of Goethe School delivered remarks together with children from four other countries.
