Aerodrome of Uvs aimag’s airport extended

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 25, an extension to an aerodrome of the Deglii Tsagaan airport located in Uvs aimag was put into operation. Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan, Finance Minister CH.Khurelbaatar and Director General of Civil Aviation Authority L.Byambasuren and other local officials attended the event to open the airfield extension. Built in 1956, the Deglii Tsagaan airport, has now an international-standard airfield. 


Following an agreement established between the Governor’s Office of Uvs aimag and “Uvs AZZA” LLC, the construction began last September. The aerodrome was extended by 415 meters using the design performed by “Rostov” LLC and with a funding of MNT 500 million from the state budget. A government resolution to make the Deglii Tsagaan airport an airport with an international status is to be made in the near future in accordance with a recent decision to establish a border point at the airport.
